I just watched the latest episode Grey's Anatomy on demand. I am so glad that April and Jackson ended up together, they seem like a cute couple. I am also happy that Arizona and Callie Seem to be working through their issues. I was saddened to see that Alex wasn't able to work through his issues with his father. I'm not sure I like the direction that this show is going in but I will continue to watch it. I then with these characters for a long time. Now I am in the middle of watching a new episode of 2020. They are doing an expose on a Slovakian woman who kidnapped her two children from their American fathers. I had no idea that this type of thing was becoming so commonplace. The show said that this happens to nearly 1000 children every year. That figure was mind blowing.

I can't decide what to watch on TV. It's either Olympic hockey, which I am not that into or a movie marathon on the Hallmark Channel. Mom just pulled out the second season of one tree hill that is definitely a valid option. I should probably stick to my word association app. I really enjoyed how challenging it is. I think that app has really strengthened my eyes. The app gives you a bank of words and you have to find all the matches in under a minutes time. I find it extremely fun and it really gets my blood pumping. I really need to work on my accuracy, in terms of pressing the word. Sometimes, I think it is highlighted when it is actually not. Sorry for the blocks of text. This is my first time posting a blog using our iPad. I am actually excited that I can post on my blog using something other than my computer. I didn't get a chance to read my book today. I will get back on that soon I promise. I would like to take a moment to write about a suggestion given to me by my friend Alex. She had this theory that time stands still when you put something in the microwave. Now, I am not quite sure how accurate she was but I found the statement about it just the same. You see I don't think I've ever put anything in the microwave for myself so, I don't actually know what it feels like. I guess it's something akin to anticipation. I wait and wait for Christmas to come all you around and then once it's over I don't know what to do with myself. Today, my mom and I took down our Christmas tree decorations and I had a mixture of emotions. I think it was somewhere between sadness and relief that I had no more holiday obligations to think about. My mom did something funny though, she left out one particular Christmas decoration. I was only able to concentrate long enough today to read about 20 pages. However, they really resonated with me. For some reason that escapes me and I don't like the chapters that focus so much on Ira. Perhaps, it's because something about them seems ethereal. I can't tell whether Ira's visits from Ruth signal that he is losing consciousness are not. Even though he is only a fictional character, I don't like seeing anyone in such a desperate situation. There is something about the exchanges between Luke and Sophia that I really like. Their relationship is fresh, new and exciting. I was beginning to think that Luke was nothing more than eye candy, but now I see there is a lot more to him. He is tough, given his profession but he also has fears related to it and that makes him seem more human to me. Some people may think that after 19 some novels Nicholas Sparks is getting stale and his characterizations are typical. I'm not one of those people. Even ...

I have been introduced to the four main characters this book. In the first chapter, I met Ira and the spirit of his beloved wife Ruth. Now I am getting to know Sophia and Luke. Sophia is a senior at Wake Forest University who has just ended a long-term relationship. On the advice of her roommate Marcia, she has agreed to attend a redo in a near by town. After an altercation with Brain, her former flame, a mysterious “cowboy” comes to her rescue. Both the Sophia and Luke characters seem like loners who need companionship. They exchange family histories and l am interested to see where their budding romance goes. At this point though, they are nothing more than casual acquaintances. It would be nice to know how the character of Ira is going to interact with the two younger characters. I find the plot of this book a little that I hired to understand at times but I'm going to keep going. Hopefully the face of it will pick up soon so I don't have to put so much time in between ...

I have recently started reading Nicholas Sparks’ latest novel The Longest Ride. As far as I can tell, this novel is written from the perspective of different characters. In the first chapter, we meet Ira. I believe he is in his early hundreds. He spends much of the first few pages talking about the close relationship he had with his father. What I liked most about this particular section was that it showed how human Ira was. He is an elderly man who was shaped by the guidance of his parents and the love of his wife. Of the only part I didn't particularly care for was the appearance of Ira's late wife. It seems to me that Sparks used this premise in his last few novels but I can be certain. One of the things that I enjoyed most about this first chapter was the amount of history that was involved in it. It seemed slightly reminiscent of Nicholas Sparks’ first big novel The Notebook. My Papa's band the juke joint hand-me-downs is over practicing for a gig they have on New Year's Eve. My Papa is involved in several local bands, but this is by far one of my favorites. They play a lot of covers as well as a mixture of original tunes. They were recently nominated for two Jammy awards, one for best Americana album and best engineering. I was blown away by the one for best engineering when I found out that bass player Tim Foley did the entire thing on Garage Band. My favorite cover that they do is Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. I think it's one of the only songs that I know all the words to. My mom and I love their second CD because all of the songs are so danceable. The band recently played a gig at a local moose lodge. Mom and I got out on the dance floor and by around until we were both dizzy. We are still the two dry hand-me-down biggest fans. In fact, for Christmas we got red Juke Joint T-Shirts.
