New Direction…

My blogging has been a bit sparse in the past. But starting on June 30 I plan to start blogging 1 to 2 times a week. Meghan's Musings will be filled with creative fiction and nonfiction pieces, poetry and it will have some pieces built from writing prompts. My main goal is to gain interest in my writing and to improve and maybe will absolutely friends. Journaling will not be featured on this blog. I consider journaling suite of private endeavor, and it simply be putting too much out there for the public. Last but not least, I wanted to try my hand at writing book reviews.

There might even be some room for a bit of social commentary. I don't know, I just wanted to inform everyone who had shown the least bit of interest in my blogging that I was going to be doing more consist before.

Please readers, read these posts, and enjoy. Also, I will be advertising through Facebook and other means.

Sincerely,
Meghan McGladdery

The Longest Ride pages 1 through 12

I have recently started reading Nicholas Sparks’ latest novel The Longest Ride. As far as I can tell, this novel is written from the perspective of different characters. In the first chapter, we meet Ira. I believe he is in his early hundreds. He spends much of the first few pages talking about the close relationship he had with his father. What I liked most about this particular section was that it showed how human Ira was. He is an elderly man who was shaped by the guidance of his parents and the love of his wife. Of the only part I didn't particularly care for was the appearance of Ira's late wife. It seems to me that Sparks used this premise in his last few novels but I can be certain. One of the things that I enjoyed most about this first chapter was the amount of history that was involved in it. It seemed slightly reminiscent of Nicholas Sparks’ first big novel The Notebook. I didn't get through his last novel so I planned on doing a series of blogs about...

Then we got custody and the world changed.  I learned how to share. I learned how to teach. I  and others learned how to dream big for them. We all watched them grow experiment and change

“Scott… Scott, you've got to be kidding me! There is no way I can play here; it's a Barnes and Noble for Christ's sake. The over 50 set skimming through the latest James Patterson novel isn't exactly the type of audience I was going for. I never should have let you talk me into this stupid tour.”          Grayson Hendrix could hear crackling through the receiver of his cell phone, however he suspected that it was his manager crinkling a candy wrapper in the in the effort to get him off the line. “Grayson babe… You have to trust me. You have to trust that you and I are on the same conceptual wavelength. I totally have your best interests at heart. Listen, I have another artist coming in a sec, so we have to wrap this up.”          “Hey wait a minute, I thought I was your only artist. What the crap is going on?”          “Well, um… He just walked in. Got to go bud...
